Just half a litre of beer may keep you safe from the influence of radiation. This is the conclusion Japanese researchers came to.
While working at the project, scientists proved that beer like other spirits may protect organism from radiation.
The experiment carried out by Japanese researchers demonstrated that 500 millilitres of light beer per 24 hours is enough to reduce the number of chromosomal injuries which appear after X-raying or influence of heavy particles, e.g. hydrogen ions, by 34%.
In researchers’ opinion, the same effect is achieved due to combination of biologically active compounds with alcohol.
Scientists found out that a molecule of alcohol absorbs free radicals which lead to genetic breaches by irradiation. Moreover, experts emphasized that alcohol-free beer doesn’t possess such quality.
